What is iPad?

Ingenuity at it’s best!

Kevin Rose Accidentally Leaks Digg Redesign

Looks like Mr. Rose might have been whacking a few beers when he uploaded this pic on twitter yesterday. Nothing to groundbreaking but it looks like you can now have your own personal tab. The light green row may be some sort of real time update regarding each post. Hope this rolls out soon…Digg could use some sort of spark.

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

Ate breakfast, house hunted, explored Rutgers, watched Iron Man 2 and ate Chipotle.

Badly Needed! “iPad Search Anywhere”

With all of this new real estate I’ve been finding it a little difficult to keep a grasp on which screen all of my random apps exist. Thus, I have been using the “Search” a lot more often than my iphone.

I’m not sure about you but I absolutely HATE that blank waste of space screen that appears ??before the homepage?? – How much more functional would it be if we could trigger the search function by either double tapping/holding the home button to make this search field appear on any screen? Anyway, I’ve done a quick mock up to show what my fanciful dream would look like.

PS…It would be nice if this could search the web as well. Just dreaming big here people :-/

Here’s a quick review for a pretty great iPad Case/Sleeve. This sleeve’s main focus is giving your iPad some stylish protection. Pricing may change so I did not mention it in the video but feel free to give their website a lookie.

Facebook for iPad Coming Soon?

Just heard from a reliable source that Facebook has submitted an official iPad app for approval. I hope this is true and it hits the app store next week! I’ll be on the lookout.

Koi Pond HD: Making it’s Way to the iPad

Looks like the extremely popular iPhone app Koi Pond is making it’s way to the iPad very soon. Earlier this week, The Blimp Pilots, announced that their biggest hit Koi Pond will be submitted and should be approved within the next week or so. I’ll be on the lookout.

Something remarkable has happened with the iPhone OS even though most people haven’t realized it. Apple for the first time has seemed to ditch the, less than welcoming, blue notification pop ups. In the latest beta release, developers were quick to find a new way to interact and control the iPhone iPod application. A new set of controls now appear when swiping to the far right after a home button double tap.

So what does this mean for the future of a possible sans blue notification system? Well it seems like El Jobso is finally allowing interaction with non visible apps without the less than stellar system that is currently in place. I can finally picture receiving unobtrusive notifications either appearing from the bottom or top of the screen. My assumption is that Apple realized they had let the cat out of the bag and quickly pulled the beta update. What do you think?

DropBox Magically adds iPad Goodness

Well look here..on my regular hourly quest to see what iPad apps have been updated I was pleasantly greeted with a “Dropbox has added iPad support”

Up until now I was using the iPhone version on my iPad which was not the best experience ever. After a few minutes of using the iPad version I must say that it does the job but still has a lot of catching up to do when factoring all of the functionality that apps such as GoodReader have produced. Still, this is very worth the update or fresh download.

Out there in the world are 63 people who have made a very bad decision. Well I would like to ease their pain! To the first 3 JooJoo owners who ship me their device I will record a video of me mercilessly smashing the bananas out of this thing.

At the end of each video I will place all of the pieces in the original box and hold a short memorial for their fallen “friend”.

Each person will receive $250 which is most likely a lot more than they will get for it anywhere else. So…what do you say? Anybody out there want to relieve some stress? Send me your information at brandon@theurbangeek.com and we’ll do some business.

How Ironic?

Just noticed this on the front page of Apple’s website. Apparently they don’t seem to really care about MobileMe either.
