iOS 4.1 Beta Released to Devs

Looks like Apple just seeded the latest beta to iOS devs. I am going to download and begin poking.

With wireless Apple toys in abundance; Magic Mouse, Keyboards and now the Magic Trackpad it seems to make sense that Apple takes a dive into the rechargeable battery business. Apple claims that their rechargeable batteries have a lifespan of up to 10 years and hold a charge “for an incredibly long time”.

I must admit that I don’t really follow the rechargeable battery industry aside from my mothers freezer technique. But I must say this product will have me do some spec and price comparison and eventually lead to a purchase.

Apple Makes the Trackpad Magical…Again.

Today you will be able to touch your Apple Desktop like never before. Over the last 5 months speculation of this mysterious device has been debated after an appearance by Mr. Blurry cam hit the interwebs. This device was given even more steam 4 months later after official FCC documents stamped Apple Product id A1339 the stamp of approval. It’s listed at $69 and can be purchased over at the Apple Store today.

What woud really be awesome is if they somehow incorporate this into the alleged forthcoming Apple TV. Only time will tell…

I’ll pick one up during lunch to review.

Inside Apple’s Secret Testing Lab (Pics)

All good things were meant to be leaked…right? Just in case you weren’t one of the lucky 11 journalist to walk the inner hallways of Apple’s testing labs I got a few snapshots for ya.

You’ll see the prototypes covered and surrounded my iMacs, the outside/inside of an anechoic chamber of death, the dummy heads and hands used to test reception and a 3D cat scan of the iPhone 4’s internals. Enjoy.

All seems well in the land of upload speeds, at least in the NJ/NYC area. I am also tracking a thread on MacRumors that indicates upload speeds are getting back to the norms unless you live in Pheonix, AZ. According to the thread, Phoenix natives, are still gazing upon the stars wondering when internets will grant them upload love.

Btw, having a norm of 1,660/up is pretty kickass.

Darth Vader in Need of Cash??? Robs NY Bank

You know what? It’s been a while since they have put out a Star Wars sequel and Mr. Vader may be having some cash flow issues. This afternoon Darth decided to waltz into a Long Island, NY bank and show them who’s daddy. I surely hope he gets back on his feet.

Well it’s finally here. Skype update 2.1 now allows you to accept calls in the background. Still no video chat support…2.2???

Thanks Rob Y.

Looks like RIM’s PR Machine is in Full Effect. Earlier today, Electonista posted two videos of RIM’s soon to be released BlackBerry 9800 that showed the death grip in action. The funny thing is, the videos weren’t posted to show the death grip phenomena, it just kind of happened during the demo.

While showing off the new WebKit and media browsers, clips given to Salomondrin has shown what appears to be the ‘death grip’ symptom in action: while held in certain positions, the phone drops to one or two bars,” wrote Electronista.

Now when you click on the videos hosted on YouTube it says “this video has been removed due to terms of use violation.”

RIM co-CEOs responded quickly to Apple showing the death grip problem on a BlackBerry, calling it “unacceptable.”

“One thing is for certain, RIM’s customers don’t need to use a case for their BlackBerry smartphone to maintain proper connectivity,” said Lazaridis and Balsillie. “Apple clearly made certain design decisions and it should take responsibility for these decisions rather than trying to draw RIM and others into a situation that relates specifically to Apple.”

Unfortunately, BlackBerry users may have to use a case with the new device, but since the videos are no longer available, you won’t be able to see it in action.

Watermelons Keep on Rollin…

I couldn’t make this up if I tried. For $230, this rolling watermelon cooler will be the life of the BBQ or day on the beach. It’s manufactured by, JoyBond,  a company in Japan which is not so surprising due to the high cost of fruit there yonder.

Somebody has some ’splanin to do. Above is a capture from a Samsung Galaxy S user manual. Looks like your classic Death Grip isn’t too kind to the Galaxy S either. I guess Apple will just have to draw a picture to avoid holding a press conference for the iPhone 5.

Thanks Interwebs

Dr. Dre Works on Detox

My sad attempt of making this process go a little quicker…if that’s even possible. C’mon Doc.
